COMPOUND

Privacy Policy · Last updated March 2025
The short version: All your data stays on your device. We collect nothing. We store nothing on our servers. The only external service your data touches is Anthropic's API — and only if you use AI coaching with your own API key.

What We Collect

Nothing. COMPOUND stores all user data locally in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This includes your identity statements, habits, reflections, streak data, Root Why answers, and all other content you enter.

This data never leaves your device. We have no database, no user accounts, and no server-side storage.

Trial Email

If you choose to start a 14-day free trial, we ask for your email address. This is used only to send you a trial confirmation and, if you choose, a reminder before your trial ends. We do not share, sell, or use your email for any other purpose. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.

Payment Data

If you subscribe to COMPOUND Pro, payment is processed by LemonSqueezy, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details. LemonSqueezy is the Merchant of Record and handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.

AI Coaching

If you use the AI Coach feature, you supply your own Anthropic API key. When you send a message to your coach, your message and a summary of your logged data are transmitted directly from your browser to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com). This data is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. We do not proxy, log, or store these requests.

Analytics

We collect no usage analytics, no crash reports, no telemetry. We have no visibility into how you use the extension.

Data Deletion

To delete all your data, use the Reset option in Settings within the extension. This permanently clears all locally stored state. Alternatively, uninstalling the Chrome extension removes all associated storage.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and notify trial/Pro users by email.
